September 21 - Madrid ITU World Cup: Madrid, Spain
A couple of days after the World Cup Race in Nice I flew to Madrid to start preparing for a World Cup Race there (Results). I was very excited because I had always wanted to go to Spain.

I was fortunate to have almost a week in Madrid before the race. I got to do some sight seeing. I was very impressed with Madrid. It was a really cool city!

I enjoyed swimming at the high performance center in Madrid. It had a wonderful Olympic Size pool. I also got in some good cycling and running at Casa de Campo which was the large park where the race was being held. I was, however, surprised to see large groups of prostitutes hanging out all day at the park. The park seemed like such a nice family park, so it really was quite disturbing to ride and run by all of the prostitutes.

Anyway, while I enjoyed myself in the days leading up to the Madrid World Cup, the race itself turned out to be something I would rather forget. It just wasn't my day. This is why it has taken me so long to post a race report for this race. I really did not want to think about it again.

I have put the Madrid race behind me and am looking forward to my next races!
